Hi everyone, I've been following Marnay Haynes' case, and my heart goes out to her family and friends who have to endure this unimaginable pain. I wanted to bring attention to the role of the ShotSpotter technology in this tragic incident. It’s one of those tools we often don’t hear much about but can be crucial in cases like this. For those unfamiliar, ShotSpotter is a gunshot detection system that uses acoustic sensors to pinpoint the location of gunfire. It was a ShotSpotter alert that led the police to Marnay so quickly that night. While it’s devastating they found her after it was too late, imagine how many more crimes might go undetected or take longer to respond to without tech like this. It raises a lot of questions for me about how technology is used in law enforcement and if more investment in such systems could prevent or at least help solve gun-related crimes. Has anyone else thought about this or know how effective ShotSpotter has been in other cases? Really curious to hear your thoughts.
