Has anyone else been following the Kanen Xavier Wheaton case in Kansas City? My heart goes out to Kanen’s family and friends – such an unimaginable loss for them. I couldn't help but feel a surge of anger and sadness when I found out that the suspects still haven’t been caught. What really gets to me is how this tragedy puts a spotlight on the gun violence issue in our communities. Kanen seemed like such an active and promising young man, especially with his involvement in sports like little league baseball and football. It’s so upsetting to think about all the potential that was cut short. I've been reading about how the community is trying to rally together for solutions, but it feels like there's such a long way to go. I really hope the police get some leads soon. It's so important for community members who might know something to come forward. The $25,000 reward might encourage some, but I wish people understood the real urgency lies in preventing more families from going through this. Sending love and strength to Kanen's family and to everyone else affected by this tragedy.
