I've been thinking about the role of DNA evidence in modern investigations, especially in cases like Stephon Johnson's. It's incredible how forensic science has advanced to help bring justice, but it must be so frustrating and painful for the families to wait through these processes. The fact that a single piece of evidence, like the DNA on the cigarillo package, can link a suspect like Perez Reed to a crime is mind-blowing. I can't imagine the relief mixed with anguish that Stephon's family must have felt when they learned his alleged killer was identified. It's like finally having some answers but facing the harsh reality of what those answers mean. I hope the ongoing legal proceedings bring them some peace, and I hope the community continues to rally around them as they seek justice for Stephon.
