It’s been on my mind a lot lately about how the Kirksville community has shown up for the Sizemore family. It’s really something to see everyone come together for the Justice for Parker initiative and the various events they’ve held. I attended the last candlelight vigil, and the turnout was incredible.
Seeing so many people from all walks of life gather—some who knew Parker, others who just wanted to support his family—was genuinely moving. It's not just about remembering Parker but also keeping the conversation about preventing violence alive. It's clear that Parker's story has touched so many people, and the community isn’t ready to let his name fade away.
I just hope that all this love and support eventually leads to answers for his family. I'll be keeping them in my thoughts and continuing to participate in any events they have in the future. Anyone else feel the same way or have any thoughts on other ways we can keep supporting the family?
I recently attended one of the memorial events in Kirksville for little Parker Douglas Sizemore, and it was incredibly moving. The "Ride for Parker" event brought together so many people from our community, all united in honoring the memory of such a vibrant little boy. Seeing a sea of motorcycles cruising down the street, each one with a small token for Parker, was powerful. It was a beautiful reminder that even in the darkest times, a community can come together to support one another and seek justice. Parker's story has touched the lives of many, and it’s heartening to see the ongoing support for his family. These gatherings not only commemorate his life but also strengthen the call for answers and accountability. It’s an essential reminder that we must keep advocating for justice, hoping that one day those responsible will be caught and held accountable. If you haven't participated in one of these events, I highly recommend it. It’s a profound experience that reinforces the community’s commitment to Parker and his family.
