Donald Nelson DeVinney, 16, went missing on April 18, 1975, from Wolcott, New York. On that day, he and his stepbrother were fishing at the Red Lake inlet when Donald decided to go canoeing on Lake Ontario in their 17-foot yellow fiberglass canoe. He was last seen heading out onto the lake around 7:30 p.m. Later, the canoe was found adrift, empty on the water, and three days later, it washed ashore in Jefferson County, New York.
