In the late summer of 1989, 34-year-old Robert Dalton Driskill, Jr. vanished from Nome, Alaska, a remote town on the coast of the Bering Sea. On August 29th, he was on a boating trip when he was last seen. At the time of his disappearance, he was described as a White male, 5'8" tall, and weighing around 150 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He had several distinctive tattoos, including a bulldog on one arm and a map of Korea on another. He was reportedly wearing a blue, black, and white plaid shirt, jeans, a green baseball cap, and old army boots. The circumstances surrounding the boating trip and what might have gone wrong remain unclear. His body has never been recovered.
