Charla Maria Ghost, a 19-year-old Native American woman and a member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe, disappeared on December 26, 1990, from Oakland, California. She had left her home that day to go to the corner store to pick up medicine for her 8-month-old daughter but never returned. She was last seen wearing a distinctive black and white polka-dot faux leather jacket, a silk shirt, black jeans, and black and white Puma sneakers.
Despite extensive searches, Charla has not been seen or heard from since.
At the time of her disappearance, Charla had no known reason to voluntarily leave, and no significant clues have surfaced to explain what happened. Her case has been classified as a missing persons case, and it remains unsolved more than 30 years later. The Oakland Police Department continues to seek any information related to her whereabouts.
