In the spring of 2004, a 24-year-old woman named Eri Yamaguchi vanished from her life in Norman, Oklahoma. She was last seen on May 15, 2004. Concern for her welfare arose when her apartment manager, Antonina Vakhrusheva, realized that although Eri had paid her rent for May, she had not been seen or heard from in nearly a month.
