In the autumn of 2019, 33-year-old Brooklynn Suzanne Short was last seen in Middletown, Ohio. The last confirmed sighting of her was on foot on Tytus Avenue sometime in late October of that year. At the time she went missing, Brooklynn was described as being homeless. Despite her circumstances, she made efforts to stay in contact with her family and was an active user of social media. When she was last seen, she had brown hair that was dyed blue and was carrying a backpack. Distinctive features include a prominent dimple in her chin, pierced ears, and possible piercings on her lower lip and tongue. She also has tattoos on her breast, wrist, and the name "Johnna" tattooed on the side of her neck. Concern for Brooklynn's welfare grew when all communication from her ceased. Her normally active social media accounts fell silent, a worrying sign for those who knew her. On November 21, 2019, approximately one month after she was last seen, her mother officially reported her as a missing person. At the time of her disappearance, Brooklynn was a mother to five children. It is also known that she struggled with an opiate addiction. Her family and authorities were deeply troubled by her sudden and complete lack of contact, which was out of character for her, regardless of her transient lifestyle. The investigation into Brooklynn Short's disappearance is being handled by the Middletown Police Department. Her case is classified as an endangered missing person case. There has been speculation about a possible connection between her disappearance and other cases of missing and murdered women in the Middletown area, as several women with similar lifestyles went missing around the same time. However, no official connection has been confirmed by law enforcement. The circumstances surrounding what happened to Brooklynn after she was last seen on Tytus Avenue remain unknown, and her case is one with few available details. Anyone with information regarding her disappearance is urged to contact the Middletown Police Department.
