In the late summer of 2020, 45-year-old James Elmer Hughes and his twin brother, Cleston Hughes, vanished from their lives in Batesville, Arkansas. The last known contact with James was on August 1, 2020. According to a report filed later that year, the last conversation a reporting party had with the brothers was in August, during which they mentioned plans to travel to Colorado for a short time before returning to the Batesville area.
