Benjamin Earls, a 42-year-old man from Eureka, Montana, was last seen on August 2, 2020, under unusual and concerning circumstances. The night before his disappearance, he stayed at his mother’s residence in Rexford, Montana. He had been suffering from a medical condition, and his mother, Sheri Earls, a nurse, believed his condition would improve by morning. The plan was for her to drive him to work the next day. However, by the time she woke up on the morning of August 2, Earls had already left.
Throughout that morning, Sheri spoke to her son twice on the phone. During the first call, he told her he was lost in the woods and cryptically mentioned, "You’ll never find me." Hours later, in the second call, Earls claimed to be waiting along Gut Creek Road, but when his mother arrived at the location, he was nowhere to be found. This was the last time anyone had contact with him. Despite extensive searches in the Pinkham area, no trace of Earls has been discovered.
His disappearance remains a mystery, leaving his family deeply concerned and puzzled, as he was close to his family, especially his two children, and had important plans in place for the following days.
In addition to the strange circumstances surrounding his disappearance, there were other troubling elements. A month before he vanished, Earls was arrested for driving under the influence, and there was a warrant for his arrest in December 2020 after it was discovered that he had allegedly tampered with evidence by stealing vials of his own blood from a police station.
