On a late summer day, August 31, 2020, 73-year-old James Jannette vanished from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was last seen in the 10000 block of Cedar Lane, a detail that marks the beginning of a prolonged period of uncertainty for his loved ones and community. At the time of his disappearance, Jannette, a white male with graying, balding hair and blue eyes, was wearing a simple white t-shirt and blue jeans.
