Paul Billings, a 26-year-old man from Dalton, Georgia, was last heard from on August 1, 1986. He had contacted his mother asking for $100 to pay a speeding fine, but he never called back as promised. This lack of follow-up was highly uncharacteristic, as he had a history of regular communication with his family. His disappearance raised concerns, particularly because he was known to have connections in Galena, Illinois, Chicago, and California.
