In the spring of 1992, a period of uncertainty began for the family of Wilmer Tecumseh Crawford, a 72-year-old male from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The last point of contact with Mr. Crawford was on April 27th of that year. Standing at five feet six inches and weighing around 150 pounds, he was a man with gray or partially gray hair and brown eyes. His disappearance, however, was not immediately discovered. The exact date he went missing remains vague, a painful ambiguity for those who cared for him. It was his daughter who later reported to the Oklahoma City Police Department that he had vanished sometime between April 27, 1992, and June 21, 1992. The circumstances surrounding Wilmer Crawford's disappearance are shrouded in mystery, with very little information available to the public or investigators to form a clear picture of what might have happened. Compounding the family's concern was the fact that Mr. Crawford was reported to have been suffering from Alzheimer's disease, a condition that could have left him disoriented and vulnerable. In the years that followed his disappearance, there have been no significant leads or developments in his case. The passage of time has only deepened the mystery, leaving his loved ones without answers and his whereabouts unknown. Decades after he was last seen, the case of Wilmer Crawford remains an active and open investigation. In an effort to generate new leads, his case was entered into the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) in February 2021. This national database allows for his information to be shared widely among law enforcement agencies and the public, with the hope that someone, somewhere might hold the key to resolving this long-standing mystery. The Oklahoma City Police Department continues to be the primary agency investigating his case. The overview of this case is one of profound and prolonged uncertainty; a 72-year-old man with a medical condition vanished without a trace, and for over three decades, his family and community have been left to wonder what became of him.
