Jerry Wayne Moore, a 42-year-old man from Henderson County, Tennessee, went missing on October 5, 1996. He and his wife were traveling from McKenzie, Tennessee, to Arizona when they stopped near mile marker 96 on I-40 for a bathroom break. According to his wife, she drove ahead but returned shortly after to pick him up, only to find that he had disappeared. Jerry had left behind his identification, money, and other personal belongings, which raised immediate concern for his family.
