The skeletal remains of a person found after a brush fire in Talladega were identified as a missing man.
The Talladega Police Department said the fire happened on March 29 behind Marvin's , a home improvement store.
After extinguishing the fire, firefighters discovered the remains in the underbrush.
The remains were identified as those of Joe Samuel Whitson. Police said Whitson was reported missing by his family in February of 2021.
