In the city of Tulsa, Oklahoma, 37-year-old Iva Koopman, a female known to her friends and family by nicknames like "Jojo" and "Sugar," has been missing since March 1, 2021. Since the day after the fire, no one has reported having contact with Iva.
The last known sighting of her was at 10 E 46th St N, where she was reportedly seen being helped by an older Black male who was driving a light blue van. This last interaction, coupled with the fire at her home, created immediate and significant concern for her well-being.
Iva Koopman is a white female with blue eyes and blondish, strawberry-blonde hair which she often wore up in a bun. At the time she went missing, she stood between 5 feet 4 inches and 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighed approximately 123 pounds. Her appearance is distinguished by several physical features, including numerous piercings in her ears, tongue, belly button, and pelvic area. She has a scar shaped like a half-moon on her upper right shoulder blade and two known tattoos: a small butterfly on the small of her back and a flower on her left ankle. Iva typically wore size small clothing and was known to wear dangling earrings, jewelry in her belly button piercing, multiple necklaces, and a toe ring.
The investigation into Iva's disappearance has been fraught with concern, particularly regarding her relationship with her boyfriend at the time. Her family has voiced strong fears that he may have been involved in her vanishing, citing a history of abuse. They believe that following an assault, Iva had gone to her house to pack her belongings when her boyfriend, in a fit of anger, set the residence on fire.
