In the spring of 2021, a trip to visit a loved one took a distressing turn for Luis Jose Davila, a 31-year-old resident of Bentonville, Arkansas. He had traveled to Mexico to visit his girlfriend in the area of Monterrey, arriving on March 26, 2021. He was scheduled to drive back home to Arkansas on March 29, 2021.
