Lupe Calle Peralta, a 43-year-old Ecuadorian woman, was last heard from on June 16, 2021, after attempting to cross into the United States via the desert near Sierra Blanca, Texas. As part of a larger migration effort from Ecuador, Lupe had traveled from Cuenca, Ecuador, to Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, before starting the final leg of her journey across the U.S.-Mexico border.
