In the late morning of October 14, 2021, 69-year-old Richard Albright, a dedicated registered nurse, walked out of his apartment building in the Jackson Heights neighborhood of Queens, New York. Security footage captured him leaving at 11:18 a.m. for what his wife believed was a short walk. Albright, who also went by the name Max, was experiencing foot pain and was wearing slippers, which made his decision to venture far seem unlikely to his family.
