Phillip Wade Murphy, a 22-year-old from Decatur, Illinois, went missing on May 19, 1989. He was last seen at the Adolf Meyer Mental Health Center, where he had been transferred from St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Illinois. Phillip had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia and was prescribed medication for his conditions. His parents visited him shortly before his disappearance, and he was wearing a straight jacket at the time.
