Having been released from prison in March of that year, the 47-year-old was living near family. However, he was reportedly struggling with a methamphetamine addiction. McCall was last seen on June 23, 2019, leaving his mother's residence on Damascus Road in his white Toyota.
His intended destination was the home of his cousin's boyfriend, where he was supposed to collect money he had earned from working for him. According to his daughter, he left his phone and wallet behind at his mother's house.
Days turned into weeks with no word from McCall. While his family was concerned, they initially hesitated to report him missing, fearing it might be related to a drug binge and could lead to his re-incarceration. However, as more time passed, their worry grew. On June 27, four days after he was last seen, his car was discovered abandoned on the side of County Road 709. Inside the vehicle were his wallet and cell phone. It wasn't until July 11 that he was officially reported as a missing person.
