In the winter of 2021, a 17-year-old young man named Erick Alfredo Gonzales-Ibanez vanished from the city of Norman, Oklahoma. He was last seen on December 23, a time typically filled with warmth and celebration, but for Erick, it marked the beginning of a period of uncertainty. A citizen of El Salvador, Erick had been placed in a home in Norman through the HHS Office of Refugee Resettlement.
