On January 18, 2022, 16-year-old Kendy Acal Maxena was last seen leaving her residence in the 9600 block of Mason Bluff Court in Burke, Virginia, around 7:32 a.m., intending to catch the bus to school. However, she never attended any classes that day. Kendy is described as a Black female with black hair and brown eyes. At the time of her disappearance, she was 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighed approximately 120 pounds.
