Andrew Chase Castillo, a 31-year-old man from Dallas, Texas, has been missing since September 9, 2022. His last known whereabouts were at the Dallas Veterans Medical Center, where he had been admitted following a call to a suicide hotline. The Waxahachie Police had conducted a welfare check on him at the request of his family and transported him to the medical center due to concerns for his mental health.
Castillo, who had been struggling with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and suicidal ideation, was discharged from the facility shortly after but has not been heard from since.
Castillo's family became alarmed when they lost all contact with him after his discharge. He has not reached out to friends or family, which was highly unusual for him. Efforts to gather information from the Veterans Medical Center about his discharge have provided little insight into his current whereabouts. At the time of his disappearance, Castillo was wearing a black shirt with a white skull design, dark jeans, and black sneakers. He was also carrying military-issued gear, including an army green camouflage backpack and duffel bag.
