He was driving his dark tan 1966 International pickup truck, which was later recovered. At the time, he was dressed in black pants, a white short-sleeve button-down shirt, black Wellington boots, and a black belt with a distinctive silver dollar buckle.

Despite extensive investigations, Lopez has not been found, and his case remains unsolved for over four decades.
