In the autumn of 1981, a young woman named Denise Marie Elson, aged 28, vanished without a trace from Coos Bay, Oregon. She was a woman with blonde, possibly strawberry-hued hair, and blue eyes. On October 16, 1981, Denise and her husband disappeared together, their last known location being in Curry County. The circumstances surrounding their disappearance were, and remain, distressingly vague, marking the beginning of a long and painful mystery for their loved ones.
