Eugene Pavey, aged 50, went missing on July 1, 1982, after departing from the Crandon Marina in Miami, Florida, with his 19-year-old wife, Melanie Pavey. The couple embarked on a trip aboard their 27-foot Cigarette speedboat, planning to travel to Abaco Island in the Bahamas. It is believed they may have made a stop at Port Everglades Marina in Fort Lauderdale but were never seen again. When they failed to pick up Melanie's sister at the Abaco airport on July 3, they were reported missing.
