George Downes, a 69-year-old man, was last seen on October 17, 1983, in Riverhead, New York. He had been residing at the Perkins Adult Home and left the facility around 6:00 p.m. that day, heading north on Osborne Avenue. Downes, who was 6 feet tall and weighed 175 pounds, wore a beige pullover sweater, a red and gray striped shirt, black corduroy pants, and eyeglasses.
