On a summer day in late July 2026, 44-year-old Florin Anghel Grigoriu, a resident of Kirkland, Washington, traveled to the remote and scenic Cape Flattery trailhead in Neah Bay, located on Makah Tribal Land. He had rented a vehicle in Port Angeles and arrived at the popular hiking spot on or around July 22nd. Concerns arose when it was discovered that Grigoriu was unaccounted for.
