Jesse Bussey, aged 39, was last seen on September 3, 1996, at a gas station in Schweinfurt, Germany, where he was stationed in the U.S. Army. Bussey was convicted in absentia at a court-martial for sex offenses and desertion, and was sentenced to 16 years in prison, reduction in grade to E-1, and dishonorable discharge. He has been wanted by the U.S. Army since his disappearance.
The Department of the Army Criminal Investigation Division is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for credible information leading to the apprehension of Jesse Bussey. The Army CID is working jointly with the United States Marshals Service to bring this fugitive to justice. An aged-progression of mugshots from the 1990s to what Jesse Bussey may look like today has been released to aid in the search.
