Gregory Wilson Reynolds, a 38-year-old man, went missing on August 10, 1999, while camping at the Kirk Creek Campgrounds near Highway 1 in Big Sur, Monterey County, California. Reynolds, who had red hair, brown eyes, and was 5'8" tall, was last seen wearing a t-shirt and blue sweatpants. He had a mustache and a full beard at the time of his disappearance, along with noticeable scabs on his chin and right temple from a recent injury.
Reynolds suffered from seizures and required medication, but he did not have his prescription with him when he vanished. Authorities suspect he may have become lost or injured in the rugged terrain around the campgrounds. Despite extensive search efforts, including searches of the surrounding Los Padres National Forest, no trace of Reynolds has ever been found, and his case remains unsolved. The Monterey County Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate his disappearance.
