In the late summer of 2002, a seventeen-year-old named Fredi Rosas embarked on an ambitious journey with two companions, intending to walk from El Paso, Texas, to Denver, Colorado. On August 31, 2002, the group was in the vicinity of Alamogordo, New Mexico. Fredi, who also went by the names Fredi Lopez and Lopez Rosas, was last seen by his companions as he walked over a hill.
