On November 1, 1985, Byron Simmons and Julie Ann Schneider were observed fishing from a boat in Lake Huron. They were near the Nuclear Power Generation Station, near Inverhuron, Ontario, in the outflow from the nuclear plant. The couple failed to return to their cottage and are presumed drowned. Their boat was recovered the following spring washed up on shore to the north, near Oliphant, Ontario.
