John Richard Creech, 40 years old at the time, went missing in early April 2009 from his home near Meridian, Texas. He was last in contact with his family around that time, and shortly after, his 1988 blue Chevrolet pickup truck was found abandoned in a Walmart parking lot in Hillsboro, Texas. Despite extensive search efforts, little information has surfaced about the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.
In 2022, investigators, including the Bosque County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Rangers, reopened the cold case. They conducted searches in Lake Whitney after receiving a tip that his remains might be located there. Though several vehicles were discovered in the lake, no significant new evidence was found to resolve the case.
