In the spring of 1989, a 20-year-old British man named Karoly 'Charles' John Horvath was backpacking across Canada, filled with the adventurous spirit of youth. His journey brought him to Kelowna, British Columbia, in early May, where he took on part-time jobs and stayed at a local campground and hostel.
