Loretta Garrett's husband and friends reported her missing on July 19, 1961 from Moose Brook River in Northesk Parish, New Brunswick. They were on a fishing trip and shared a car and parked near the trailhead. The men hiked across a trail until they reached the water to fish, while the women remained in the car. Shortly after, Loretta complained about the heat and bugs and started down the same trail as the men, but she was never seen again.
