In the quiet community of Rosthern, Saskatchewan, concern grew for a 77-year-old man named Victor Falk. On the evening of August 14, 2018, he was dropped off at his residence around 6:30 p.m. and appeared to be aware of his surroundings. That was the last time he was seen. At the time of his disappearance, Victor was described as being five feet seven inches tall and weighing 178 pounds. He was possibly wearing a long-sleeved plaid shirt, a blue and white hat, and dark pants.
He also wore glasses and may have had large sunglasses over them. Though in generally good physical health, Victor had a medical condition that could cause confusion and mood changes, which heightened the concern for his safety. He did not have a vehicle and was known to frequent the areas of Rosthern and nearby Waldheim.
As soon as Victor was reported missing, the community and RCMP began an extensive search. The search efforts were widespread, with authorities and local search and rescue teams scouring the area for any sign of him. The town of Rosthern was described as being 'inundated' as the search for the missing senior expanded. Despite these efforts, no new clues emerged as to his whereabouts. Residents in the Rosthern and Waldheim areas were urged to check their properties, including any abandoned buildings or vehicles, for any trace of Victor. It was known that he had wandered in the past and could have become disoriented.
After nearly five days of intensive searching with no new leads, the official search was temporarily called off. The RCMP have kept the case open, and it remains an active missing persons investigation. Victor Falk has not been in contact with any friends or family since that August evening in 2018. The circumstances of his disappearance remain unclear, and a family and community are left with unanswered questions, holding out hope for any information that might lead to his whereabouts. The case is an unsettling reminder of how quickly a person can vanish, leaving a void in the lives of those who know and love them.Last Seen: Aug 14, 2018
