In the winter of 2009, a 31-year-old man named Carl Chénier vanished from his home in the Hochelaga-Maisonneuve neighbourhood of Montreal, Quebec. The last confirmed sighting of Carl was on February 23, 2009. Just prior to his disappearance, he had been grappling with personal challenges, including a difficult breakup and what his family described as mental health struggles.
