Raymond Wright, a 55-year-old independent contractor from Rocklin, California, disappeared on January 11, 2018. He was last seen leaving his workshop in Rio Linda, and his disappearance was reported by family members after he failed to return home or make contact. His 2016 white Ford F-250 was discovered a week later in Sacramento, containing a blood-soaked raincoat and his wallet, but Wright's body has never been found.
The investigation revealed that Wright was likely the victim of a revenge plot orchestrated by Robert Manor, who held a grudge against him due to a 2011 DUI accident that severely injured Manor and his wife. Manor hired Victor Gray to carry out the kidnapping and murder. Gray was later arrested after a high-speed chase, and evidence linked him to Wright's disappearance. Both men were convicted of first-degree murder and kidnapping for ransom in 2023, though Wright's body remains missing.
Wright's family continues to seek closure as his killers serve life sentences without parole.
