In the spring of 1991, a 24-year-old Indigenous mother of five named Emily Norma Ballantyne vanished, leaving behind a family searching for answers that have yet to come. On April 25, 1991, Emily left her five daughters in the care of her sister in Lynn Lake, Manitoba. She told her sister she was heading to Thompson to play bingo.
