An investigation is underway into the disappearance of 65-year-old Maria Haydee Gonzalez, who was last seen on August 15, 2025, in Ocala, Florida. The Marion County Sheriff's Office is seeking public assistance in the case, which is being treated with urgency. Accounts of her last known location vary slightly; one report states she was dropped off at a convenience store by a friend and has not been heard from since. Other reports from law enforcement indicate she was last seen at approximately 10:30 p.m. in front of her residence on NW Gainesville Road. Gonzalez does not drive, and it remains unclear if she left the area on foot or was picked up by someone.
Gonzalez is described as a Hispanic female with brown hair and brown eyes. She stands between 4'11" and 5'0" tall and weighs between 100 and 110 pounds. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a black tank top, a blue skirt, and slippers. An actual photo of her, taken in April 2025, has been shared by authorities to aid in the search.
Authorities have classified Gonzalez as an endangered missing person due to significant concerns for her well-being. She is diagnosed with cancer and other mental health conditions and did not have her necessary medications with her when she disappeared. Compounding the concern, her family and friends have had no contact with her, her cellphone has been disconnected, and there has been no activity on her bank account since the day she went missing.
