Roman Scarfo, 42, went missing on September 13, 2020, after a single-engine plane he was aboard crashed off the coast near Perry, Florida. Scarfo and his friend, pilot Haram Patrick Yu, were flying a Van's RV-9A aircraft when it went down, reportedly due to severe weather conditions. Despite extensive search efforts, covering both land and sea, no trace of the plane or its occupants was found. The official search was called off, but friends and family continued with volunteer-led search efforts, hoping for a breakthrough.
