In March 2025, the community of Toledo, Ohio, was gripped with concern over the disappearance of 13-year-old Kei'Mani Latigue. Her grandmother, who was also her legal guardian, reported her missing on March 18 after Kei'Mani failed to show up for school. This behavior was described as highly out of character for the young girl, as she had never done anything like it before, immediately raising alarms for her family. Attempts to reach her were unsuccessful, as calls to her cell phone went directly to voicemail, deepening the sense of urgency and fear among her loved ones. The last person known to have seen her was her father, Darnell Jones. As the search for Kei'Mani intensified, investigators began to focus on her father. A warrant for abduction was issued for Darnell Jones after he allegedly provided police with inconsistent statements regarding his activities with his daughter and their whereabouts. Information gathered from phone records, surveillance footage, and witness statements pointed to him as the last person to be with Kei'Mani before she vanished. The local community, along with Kei'Mani's family and friends, spent an agonizing weekend searching for the missing teen, hoping for her safe return while police continued their investigation into her disappearance. Tragically, the search came to a devastating conclusion on March 24, 2025, when authorities discovered Kei'Mani's body inside a vacant, dilapidated house in East Toledo. The Lucas County Coroner's Office later confirmed her death was a homicide caused by multiple deep cuts to her neck. In the wake of this discovery, police issued a murder warrant for her father, Darnell Jones. This case is a heartbreaking story of a young girl who was reported missing by her concerned guardian, leading to a community-wide search that unfortunately ended in tragedy. The investigation that followed centered on her father, who was the last person to see her alive, ultimately leading to his arrest in connection with her death. This case is now closed as the individual was regrettably located deceased.
