On December 3, 2011, three-year-old Briana Nikki Conklin and her five-year-old brother, Sebastian Lucas Conklin, disappeared from Hallandale Beach, Florida. While they were last seen in Florida, their case is being handled by the Fairfax County Police Department in Virginia. At the time of her disappearance, Briana was described as a biracial (White and Hispanic) female with brown hair and brown eyes. She stood at approximately 3 feet tall and weighed around 35 pounds. A notable characteristic is that her ears were pierced. The circumstances surrounding Briana and her brother's disappearance point to a parental kidnapping. Authorities believe they were abducted by their non-custodial mother, Marcela Conklin. Just two days after the children were last seen, a felony warrant for kidnapping was issued for Marcela on December 5, 2011. At the time, Marcela was thirty years old, described as a Hispanic female with brown hair and brown eyes, standing at 5'3" and weighing 125 pounds. It is suspected that Marcela may have taken the children to Cochabamba, a city in central Bolivia. The case of Briana and Sebastian Conklin is one of family abduction, a painful situation that has left their whereabouts unknown for many years. The investigation, led by the Fairfax County Police Department, continues to seek information that could lead to the children's recovery. The children are biracial, of Hispanic and White descent. The hope remains that someone, somewhere, will recognize Briana or her brother and come forward with information that could bring them home safely. Anyone with information regarding their disappearance is encouraged to contact the Fairfax County, Virginia Police Department.
