Armando Solis Ramirez, a 55-year-old man, was last seen in Travis County, Texas on the evening of June 14, 2003. He had been at a neighbor's home on Melody Lane and departed at approximately 10:00 p.m. to return to his own residence, which was also on Melody Lane. However, Ramirez never arrived home and has not been seen or heard from since. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a green t-shirt, blue jeans, and a cap.
The day after Ramirez was last seen, his friends discovered his blue and gray 1989 Dodge Ram Charger on the side of the road in the 15500 block of Farm Road 969. The vehicle was riddled with holes and pellets consistent with a shotgun blast and was soaked in a significant amount of blood, leading investigators to believe Ramirez had been seriously injured or was deceased. The circumstances immediately indicated that foul play was likely involved in his disappearance.
In 2003, authorities identified Domingo Jaimes as the primary suspect in Ramirez's case, but Jaimes fled to Mexico shortly after the disappearance. The case remained stagnant for years until Jaimes was arrested in Austin, Texas, in 2011 on an unrelated charge of driving while intoxicated. Following this arrest, he was charged with the murder of Armando Solis Ramirez.
After his arrest, Domingo Jaimes confessed to killing Ramirez. He claimed that he and Ramirez were involved in a car accident in front of his home. Jaimes stated that he went inside his residence, and when he saw Ramirez approaching, he retrieved a shotgun and shot him. He admitted that he did not contact the police because he feared deportation to Mexico.
