On August 2, 2018, 25-year-old Suzanna Escobedo vanished from her mobile home in Seadrift, Texas, leaving behind a chilling scene for her husband to discover. She was last seen at her residence located in the 100 block of Loop Road. The last communication anyone had with her was at 1:00 p.m. that day. Later that evening, at approximately 7:00 p.m., her husband returned home from work to find their four-month-old baby alone in the house, drinking from a bottle.
Escobedo's personal belongings, including her cell phone and keys, were all left behind.
Family and friends describe Escobedo, also known as "Suzie," as a devoted and loving mother to her infant daughter and seven-year-old son, stating she would never have willingly abandoned them. Prior to the birth of her youngest child, she had been employed as a waitress at the La Terraza restaurant. She maintained a close relationship with her mother, who was visiting Mexico at the time of her disappearance. Authorities have stated they do not believe she left on her own and suspect she may have met with foul play.
In the days following her disappearance, extensive searches were conducted in the Seadrift area by law enforcement and volunteer organizations, including Texas EquuSearch, which utilized foot searchers and ATVs. Despite these efforts, no trace of Escobedo has been found. Her case is classified as an endangered missing person, and some agencies refer to her by the names Suzanna Escobedo-Rodriguez or Suzanna Rodriguez. At the time she went missing, Escobedo was described as a Hispanic female, 5'5" tall, weighing 140 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
