In the late autumn of 1987, a sense of quiet unease settled over the community of Harrison, Tennessee, with the disappearance of 34-year-old Francis D. Crownover. Known to her friends as Sandy, she was last seen on November 26, 1987. At the time, she was living with her boyfriend, Joseph Duenas, in a residence on Pythian Drive. The account provided to law enforcement by Duenas stated that he and Francis went to bed around 11:00 p.m. the night she vanished. When he awoke the following morning, she was gone. A note was left behind, in which she reportedly said she would call, but that call never came in the way anyone expected. The initial days following her disappearance were filled with a confusing blend of hope and concern. The last known communication from Francis occurred two days after she was last seen, on November 28, 1987, when she made a phone call to a friend from a local convenience store. This was the final trace of her whereabouts before she seemingly vanished without a trace. Curiously, while she had apparently taken about $200 with her, she left behind nearly all of her personal belongings, including her clothing and her vehicle. It wasn't until December 4, 1987, that her boyfriend officially reported her as a missing person to the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office. Decades have passed since Francis Crownover was last heard from, and her case remains an unsolved and troubling mystery. Described as a white female with blonde hair and hazel eyes, standing 5'2" and weighing around 105 pounds, her physical presence has been absent from the lives of those who knew her for far longer than they ever imagined. At the time of her disappearance, she may have been wearing light blue pants and a long-sleeved sweater bearing an "SCP" monogram. It has been noted that she may have been experiencing some mental health challenges around the time she went missing. The investigation into what happened to Francis D. Crownover has been extensive, yet no definitive answers have ever come to light, leaving a void of information and a family without closure.
