On August 17, 1984, 72-year-old Frank Loughran went missing from West Nyack, New York, and has not been seen or heard from since. He disappeared from his family's residence on Louise Drive. At the time of his disappearance, it was suggested that he may have been heading in the direction of the Tappen Zee Bridge.
Loughran was described as being 6'1" and weighing 165 lbs, with gray hair and blue eyes.
He had Alzheimer's disease and diabetes, and walked with a noticeable limp. On the day he went missing, he was wearing black pants, a red short-sleeved shirt, and black leather shoes. He left his home without any identification or money, carrying only a small amount of change.
An official search was conducted, and tracking dogs were able to follow Loughran's scent for approximately one mile. The trail ended at the Champion International Corp., a paper company located on West Nyack Road. Despite this effort, no further leads on his whereabouts were discovered.
