On August 3, 2000, 78-year-old Robert C. Putman was last seen in Neosho, Missouri. He disappeared after wandering away from his family's farm located on Tower Road. Putman, who suffered from dementia and a heart condition requiring medication, was known to take walks near the farm. His usual route was about a quarter of a mile to the east or west of his property. On the day he went missing, he was last seen walking less than half a mile east of the farm.
